This sculpture was a housewarming gift and remains in private ownership.  

The same person received a gift from famed artist Sydney Ball.

The owner had an interesting and funny story to tell.  Sydney Ball attended a party at the house and all of the guests were drawn to the Smoker - tending to pay no attention to his painiting gift.  

The host was ribbing Sydney Ball that the Smoker was getting more attention as a piece of art than his painting.

Sydney Ball's answer was that he could take a p*** in the garden and that might get more people's attention, but that would not mean it was a work of art.

In the end, apparently he made some more encouraging remarks.
