When we do workshops with Geoff Barnes, I usually take some specific scrap pieces of my own, with a plan for an item or items to produce. This mosquito was made at one such workshop. From memory it was a weekend workshop covering both days of the weekend.
A distinctive bit of scrap was part of my collection. Steve Tupper from Adelaide Uni Psychology Department gave me a couple of old radiators when they were doing a clean out on Level 3 of the Hughes Building. The wings of the mosquito come from one of those radiators. The other radiator which was much older and chunkier was used to make a sculpture called 'Contemplation', with part of the radiator acting as a park bench. I hope to show you a photo one day, but I don't have one handy right now.
